Last time they were back at Rudyard's was when Clayton was still in the band (4 years ago). Texxxas was interesting, they are all great musicians. Wildfires from Louisiana was interesting, reminded me a bit of Kylesa in a punkish vein. Venomous Maximous is good, saw them last open up for K2B and Honky, and they usually bring the heavy sludge/thrash, vocals can't help but remind me of The Sword.

Dixie Witch played mostly half and half, half being new songs from their new album out in September (Trinidad's words) and the other half oldies for the fans. The new stuff much takes off where Smoke and Mirrors left off but with maybe more rawk in it and really never misses a beat. The new guitarist, JT, is certainly a perfect fit for the band as he can keep it up with the older material just as easily and still puts his little spin on it.

If you're in NOLA, check them out tonight with the Suplecs.

Agreed with all the above.  I saw Dixie Witch just once and they were amazing.  The next day at the bar, everybody was wearing Dixie Witch Tshirts.
