The Shocker

Uh oh:
At an Antarctica research site, the discovery of an alien craft leads to a confrontation between graduate student Kate Lloyd and scientist Dr. Sander Halvorson. While Dr. Halvorson keeps to his research, Kate partners with Sam Carter, a helicopter pilot, to pursue the alien life form. Written by IMDb Editors

Antarctica: an extraordinary continent of awesome beauty. It is also home to an isolated outpost where a discovery full of scientific possibility becomes a mission of survival when an alien is unearthed by a crew of international scientists. The shape-shifting creature, accidentally unleashed at this marooned colony, has the ability to turn itself into a perfect replica of any living being. It can look just like you or me, but inside, it remains inhuman. In the thriller The Thing, paranoia spreads like an epidemic among a group of researchers as they're infected, one by one, by a mystery from another planet. Paleontologist Kate Lloyd (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) has traveled to the desolate region for the expedition of her lifetime. Joining a Norwegian scientific team that has stumbled across an extraterrestrial ship buried in the ice, she discovers an organism that seems to have died in the crash eons ago. But it is about to wake up. When a simple experiment frees the alien from its frozen prison, Kate must join the crew's pilot, Carter (Joel Edgerton), to keep it from killing them off one at a time. And in this vast, intense land, a parasite that can mimic anything it touches will pit human against human as it tries to survive and flourish. The Thing serves as a prelude to John Carpenter's classic 1982 film of the same name. Directed by Matthijs van Heijningen, the thriller is produced by Strike Entertainment's Marc Abraham and Eric Newman (Dawn of the Dead). Written by Universal Pictures

It better not be fucking PG-13.

And yes I'll still see it even if it's the biggest piece of shit ever.

I'm cool with it, so far..whether or not it relays to the screen is always the million dollar question.

I've actually taken to the Conan redo also..doesnt look as bad as originally looked. That is subject to change

Get ready for the Alien prequel (Ridley Scott is onboard)

Mountain of Madness is back on..Cameron/Del Toro out. This maybe be very good news

The Shocker

I'll watch all of them, but dammit I'll be bitching the whole time.

I hope it's not PG-13, and I hope they don't give the alien all sorts of political intrigue and espionage experience. One of the cool things about Carpenter's movie is that, even the thing's don't know which of the other's are things. At least, it's not conveyed. So, I'd be a bit bummed if all of a sudden it's like a reality TV show with the Alien Team vs. The Hey Swedish Team.

And I don't like the fact that there's a chick in it. Because with the addition of a women, there's bound to by some romantic sub-plot. Probably with the helicopter pilot who goes digging in a foot of snow after a live grenade.

And I hope they use real and not CG'd special effects. I know there's not a snowball's chance, but I can hope.
