Gibson sg I?

There's one on my local craigslist for 500, which isn't bad for a 90's Gibson, but I'm a little hesitant about a 25 1/2" scale sg with only a bridge pickup. Anyone own or have played one?

Probably an ok price if you can talk the seller down some, but damn a 25.5 scale SG?  That ain't right.  Pretty sure it's got a coil split switch.

I own its successor, the SG-X, and i love it.

Are you sure about the scale length?  I  thought the SG-Z was the only one with a longer neck than average.

The SG X began as the SG All American 1. It was introduced as the All American 1 in 1995 and was renamed the SG-X in 1998, but the specs did not change, only the name.

I owned an SG-Z but returned it, due to severe neck drop.

The guy said it was in the ad, it also has a pickgaurd, which that model doesn't have. So either he has something else completely or its an sg-I or X that someone added a pickguard to.

I'm only mildly familiar with the SG-X, and using it as a reference point for the type, I wouldn't pay $500 for it personally.

You got a link or a picture?  Definitely interested to see what SG it is.  It's not the old 70's model is it?

The 70s has the scratch plate but usually has two pickups, well worth 500 if it's one of those.

The SG I has one pickup, the SG II has two.  But yeah, 500 would be a decent deal for one if in good condition.

No picture but I'm almost positive its a 90's guitar, I think the guy mistook the 24 frets as it being a longer scale. I'm waiting for a response on the picture.

Stock coil split switch is going to be 90's for sure.
