Recently I've started scoping out blogs and other websites to send CDs to.. about 6 months after pressing the damn thing, haha.

I haven't had much success with it, mostly because often once I've found a site that has contact details to get a review I'll send them an email and then just not hear back.  Maybe they're just not maintained anymore, maybe they're overwhelmed with unsolicited emails, maybe they have enough shit to cover already, maybe they're just not interested in completely unknown bands.  Who knows.

Anyway, I thought that as I go, I could post links to sites that seem the keenest to hear new releases from unknown bands.  So if anybody else decides to do what I'm doing now, they'll save a bit of time chasing places down.  And maybe you guys can throw in links to reviews your bands have gotten on the net?  Whether it's a doom website, heavy music generally, metal, punk, experimental, whatever.  Cats here are playing all sorts of shit, so whatever it is someone else here can probably benefit from it.  Maybe after a while, we'll have a "go-to" list of potentially relevant places to send shit to every time one of us does an EP or album or whatever.

APHISKKYU-BOT, SIBERIAN, FORTRESS OF VICTORY
(Funhouse) Aphiskkyu-Bot once told me they came up with their name by drawing letters out of a hat. I'm completely gullible, so true or not, I'm gonna believe it. By the sound of it, they write songs with the same sporadic and unpredictable nature, letting their minds just randomly piece together that which they find inspiring in each quick second. It's spastic and loud hardcore, but it's a maze of math rock, metal, and excruciating noise, too—delivered with the hardest punch the band could summon from their core. You'll want earplugs, not to drown out the sound, but to keep yourself from going deaf. MEGAN SELING

There's a couple more out there I think that I don't have the links to.  Unfortunately we are going to have to change our name because some fuckhead in Georgia has a cover band called "Whooping Cranes" and has the name and a bunch of variants on it copyrighted.

Here you go.

http://www.rumba.fi/yhteystiedot/ - One of the bigger music magazines, focus more on pop/rock/alternative.
http://www.sue.fi/yhteystiedot - Free "indierockpunkmetalzine". You can pick them up at record stores, bars and what not.
http://desibeli.net/juttu/473 - Pop/Rock/Alternative/Metal, pretty much anything goes except mainstream MTV acts.
http://www.v2.fi/ - Anything, also movie and video game reviews.
http://www.noise.fi/english/index.php - No limitations on genre either, but a focus on more obscure bands. They also have a web radio.
http://www.imperiumi.net/index.php?act=page&id=6 - Metal. They claim to be the 2nd biggest metal media in Scandinavia.
http://www.classicrocksuomi.com/crs/index.php?option=com_content&task=category&sectionid=11&id=54&Itemid=56 - Classic rock/hard rock.
