Yeah, but wasnt that part of the whole Kyuss sound? I mean, I dont want a kyuss album with John sounding like Ian Astbury in The Cult.

Oh, totally, I appreciate both but because he's not as good on the kyuss stuff I really appreciate the quality of the vocals on the later UNIDA stuff.  (Plus the Reeder bass is just incredible.)

Probably the best album to never see the, official, light of day.

Amazing stuff IMO.... the single best post-Kyuss output.
well said.

You know when George Drakoulias and Rick Rubin are producing something its going to be amazing.
Add one of the best rock guitarists around and John Garcias chords...well?? /thread.
Here is the best song imo

My vote would be for the first Queens of the Stoneage album.

agreed. or even the Kyuss/QotsA split. Also love Che - diff vibe all together tho
Last night I heard the ghetto bird circle.... as I was eatin' fish.... and watchin' Erkel...

I'll have to listen to the Vista Chino now to compare.... I like his singing a lot.

Dangling Fury

Saw them open up for Fu Manchu at the Galaxy club in Dallas after the first album just came out. Loved it. Unfortunately, Garcia was so drunk he couldn't stand up much less sing.

Their performance at the first ShoD Arizona was stellar.

Never got to see them.  More's the pity.  Coping with the Urban Coyote is my favorite album from the Kyuss family of bands.  I like it better than anything Kyuss ever did (which isn't to say that I don't dig Kyuss, cuz I do), and I like it better than anything else any of the Kyuss guys went on to do.  Great, great album.

Let's not get crazy.  He was a young kid when he was in Kyuss.

I don't know MJS when I revist "Coping" I thing it's better than I remember and stands up even after many years passed.

On to the Man's Ruin thread.

Saw Unida several times. Always a great show. Vista Chino in 2013 was unbelievably great. I have tinnitus now cuz of it.

I would say John Garcia is my favorite singer. He's kind of sexy.
