I eat lots of yughurt and musli, I call it Pap, it's my superfood. I usually make a big tupperwear of it every Sunday and soak about a quarter cup in milk overnight. I like to cut up half an apple in it. But I'm going to try the apple sauce because that would be a lot quicker.

Ok Rager, Volume & DLung... Which one of you is gonna fly out to L.A. to make me breakfast ?
Second most important meal of the day? Breakfast for dinner.
Made "breakfast tacos" last night: salsa-basted tortillas stuffed w/ hashbrowns, bacon, scrambled eggs, queso quesadilla, and hot sauce. Killer as usual.
You mean queso fresco?
Nope.

Ah yes. there are many forms of this kind of mozzarella type melting cheese marketed to white people.
Not to just "white people", brah.
I was recently down in Mexico with my Mexican wife and her Mexican relatives took us to buy some of that kind of cheese at a Mexican market. My wife and her many of her Mexican friends prefer that style of cheese in their Mexican food.
Did I use "Mexican" enough for emphasis?

Queso Oaxaca is a white, semihard cheese from Mexico, similar to unaged Monterey Jack, but with a mozzarella-like string cheese texture. It is named after the state of Oaxaca in southern Mexico, where it was first made. It is available in several different shapes. It is also known as quesillo Oaxaca or thread cheese when shaped like a ball. Shaped in bricks for slicing, it is called asadero (meaning "roaster" or "broiler") or queso quesadilla.[1]
The production process is complicated and involves stretching the cheese into long ribbons and rolling it up like a ball of yarn. Italian mozzarella is another cheese which is processed by stretching (the pasta filata process).
Queso Oaxaca is used in Mexican cuisine, especially in quesadillas and empanadas, where the queso Oaxaca is melted and other stuffings, such as huitlacoche and squash flowers are added to the filling.[2]

Has anyone tried "soy"rizo in place of chorizo? I absolutely love it. It's not greasy, and doesn't have questionable bits in it.

Looks yummy. Bet you had some stinky breath after that though.
You'd think I was stoned when I came up with this one. I diced up some leftover linguica and pepperoni pizza, sauteed up some taters, onions, and peppers in a cast iron skillet. Cracked some eggs over top with some blue cheese, scallions, and Italian parsley. Baked for aboot 10 min. on 400

Sautéed pizza?
No. Pizza was added when I threw it in the oven.
My usual is something akin to:
5 eggs (farm fresh when I can0
sharp cheddar
2 red potatoes
whatever seasonings...pepper, minced garlic (extra good when it gets browned up) etc
fry up the reds a little to get some crispiness, pour in egg/cheese mix, harvest gigantic omelet thingy
triple espresso shot
whole navel orange, sometimes 2
Or replace all the potato business with spinach, tomatoes and some balsamic and romano cheese.
Wilt the spinach first or its a bitch to mix, egg being flung everywhere.
My usual weekend breffo:
2x soft-boiled eggs in egg cups w/ pepper
Wheat toast w/ butter & tart jam (citrus marmalade or some berry rhubarb spread)
Three strips center-cut bacon
Pulpy OJ
Stout coffee w/ half & half
Dunk bacon in eggs, gulp oj, scarf toast, down coffee, take epic shit, carpe diem.
We had corned beef hash with St Patrick day's leftovers - cabbage, potatoes and a big old corn beef. It was delicious

I just burned an omelet because I wasn't paying attention. Wonder if Ragers gonna break down my door, and force me to eat it?
If you're cooking eggs with enough heat for them to burn in the first place I think you have bigger problems. Low and slow = fluffy magic.
^^Excellent point. Fried eggs can be done with big heat but an omelet should be done at lower heat and needs to be tended too.
Have you ever done a french omelet? Look up Jacques Pépin's technique. very decadent.

And where do you go? All your stuff looks delish. Me? I'm happy with a bowl of crunchy Raisin Bran and 1 sliced up banana in milk for brekkie. I do now exclusively poach my eggs when i have them. 3 minutes in the boil is perfect. I like them a lil less runny.

egg in the basket with cheddar and salsa
pretty much the only thing I can make.....bout to do it again!
I just recently got on board the egg in a basket train and am enjoying the ride.
Is the cheddar and salsa just topping, or is it more intrinsically incorporated? What's your fat of choice - butter or bacon grease?
I love bacon, but I prefer butter myself because...well...it doesn't flavor everything like bacon. Sometimes I don't want bacon flavor.

good eye on the egg salad ;) Black forest ham, tartufo salumi from Fino In Fondo, some grapes, heirloom tomatoes, and bread w/ queso fresco
thinking of doing a spanish omelette for breakfast tomorrow... i shouldn't do it since i should be avoiding carbs, but a fourth of a potato won't kill me.

Breakfast today was a piece of garlic naan with a sunny side up egg on top... obviously I need to go grocery shopping.
why did I click on this thread when I am so hungry? >:(
At the Cost Savers grocery store I got their $2.00 breakfast. Scrambled eggs, regular or cheese grits, choice of meat (patty or link sausage or bacon), biscuit and coffee for $2.00 + tax.
I can only imagine the quality :D
Grits and eggs were meh, but the sausage biscuit was delicious. May try the 69 cent biscuit with sausage gravy next.
You do alright income wise yes? Do yourself right and spend a little more for your body.
You are talking healthy vs taste? Yes, I probably should.
You can do healthy and tasty. I'm sure the stuff they're serving you is frozen cheap shit full of sodium and preservatives. Go somewhere where they at lest make the shit from scratch. There's gonna be less crap in it because it's not processed to have a shelf life. you were probably going to this place out of convenience so in that case, go to your local butcher or new seasons like store and buy the bulk sausage and make up some patties ahead of time and freeze them. make your own sausage biscuit thingey. If you need a stupid simple biscuit recipe let me know. I f you need a kill gravy recipe let me know. Eggs and grits are a no brainer to a southerner like you

I never hear of this place so I had to Google it. Seems like there's some aroond here. Just another crap "gourmet" chain of shittiness I guess.
JImmie Johns is another one of those facist republican shitfood makers, nothing gourmet about it
Doing a bit of a de-tox diet for a week or so :-\ Actually enjoying it cuz it's a challenge to make kill food out of my element. Super yummy shake for breakfast this morning.
1 banana
1/4 pomegranate. Seeds and all
5 large strawberries
dash of grapefruit juice
2 cups coconut milk.
Blend. Enjoy

that pomegranate smoothie looks goddamn delicious. what kinda detox program you doing? how many days? if i can find kale in guatemala (no luck in honduras), i'm gonna do a kale juice detox again. hope it works out.
there's gotta some warm-weather greens you could sub in for kale. cool-weather crop and all.
yeah, i just gotta do some researching. any recommendations?
not right off the bat...it'd have to be something you add raw, right? you could probably find chaya down there, but it's full of cyanide until well cooked...are there any greens at markets or in grocery stores there? callalloo/amaranth greens, katuk, maybe something like chard?
i saw spinach once. and i've seen a yellow sort of lettuce. but that's it for greens at the market. lotsa veggies, but not the leafy green types. but i'm headed to a new town, maybe i'll have better luck. thx.
Coca leaves ...duh

Gotta disagree. But i will say that eating just fruit in the morning is a good thing. Then eat a fairly decent sized lunch and a small dinner and not at 8 oclock either.
I'm enjoying some Crispy Hexagons.

My new blender came this morning for smoothies but I know from past experience that a smoothie isnt enough for breakfast, I need solid carbs and protein in the morning!
Breakfast is the first and most important meal of the day,it should be more accurate, healthy and pure.Because proper breakfast provides us full of energy and power to spend whole day more actively and effectively.

This is a myth that has been perpetrated by government agencies who are under the thumb of the mega food conglomerates. Leading experts now agree that a large cup of coffee from a convenience store combined with an eclair or jelly filled donut followed with a delicious, menthol cigarette, not only fulfills all health an nutrition requirements, but will give your body the strength and stamina it needs until McDonalds begins serving lunch and the liquor stores open.

I've no defined ideas of breakfast. This morning I had a salad of radishes celery fennel bulb English cuke tomato and chives with some micro greens and cheese on the side. And yes I took a pic but don't know how to post them from my iPhone.

Meh that looks alright. I had 2 over medium eggs with sausage patties American cheese and hashbrowns on a ny deli roll. It was awesome. Later on I'm gonna be grilling up some burgers . Maybe I'll take some pics for you do that you really know what's up.
Gimme a break. You would shovel that into your macaroni hole as fast as you could.
One of my customers yesterday were going to Wendy's and offered to buy me lunch there. I said no thank you.
I wouldn't go to Wendy's for breakfast... Of course I would dog the plate of slop that you posted. Although I would have used a soft boiled egg instead of hard boiled. To me hard boiled eggs are for salads.

Raw sausages?
Weisswurst.
Just looked it up, mega noms!
Actually take that back I mistook veal for venison :*
Trust me Jem, they're nom indeed.
I'm generally not a fan of the bratwurst or other "white" sausages, but Weisswurst is the shit.
Man I'm not a fan of chicken sausage. It seems like there's a shit ton of chicken sausage in the stores. ick to rubbery. Sausage should be made out of pork or beef or wild game. Or veal right Jem?
Chicken sausage sounds awful!
I always loved beef sausage, I grew up eating Scottish 'square sausage', I think it's made from 20% beef, 20% rusk and 60% fat! They have no skin on them, and they're the perfect size for a roll or square bread, and the bread goes all soggy and yellow with the fat, even if I ate meat I wouldn't dream of eating them now, I'd post a pic but I'm on my phone....
I like the idea if those lightly boiled sausages though...

nah man. put your egg and the water in the pan on the stove and turn to high set timer for 8 minutes otherwise the egg might crack.
I know the process is supposed to be easy I've just never done it. I guess what I was saying was I need to start making soft boiled eggs cause they look awesome. I usually just end up scrambling or frying them over medium.

Foie gras
Good god. I just saw that chorizo egg sammich and about drooled all over myself. That looks a-May-zing.
For the record, I don't care for foie gras but I'm not sure it's any more horrible than lamb or veal or baby seal. The Inuits love baby seal.

You guys ever do savory oatmeal. Been doing this a lot more lately cuz the Doc says lower my cholesterol so it's been steel cut oats or whole grain type cheerios with bananas for breakfast lately.
Blistered padron peppers, zukes, torpedo onions all from the garden and some hard cheese from Cascadia Creamery. Yum!

Not if rager is making it.
I think he thinks there's no such thing as leftover onion rings. Right?
But they were huge and we already had burgers and fries too. There's some of them fries in that frittata.
Yup, like leftover crack.

SE Asia breakfast soup. Yum.

Super easy breakfast dish. Congee or baizhou or khao tom. Whatever you call it it's rice porridge. Long grain white, jasmine, sticky rice. Mainly you use leftover rice cooked down to a porridge in broth or stock. Add what you want to it. Top it how you see fit.
I added leftover chicken, roasted shallots, and shiitakes and cooked it down in chicken stock fortified with xo sauce. You could just add some soy sauce. Then topped with scallions, cilantro, fried shallots
Send some Chiu chow chili oil for some heat. Mmmmmm.

An amazing Egg. The whole offering looks like the perfect heavy-drinking recovery program. Maybe a Bloody Mary afterwards?
Unfortunately I'm at work but I'm overdue for hitting an early brunch before work on a Sunday. Breakfast board and oysters and couple drinks. Today would have been perfect. Shitty weather and it's dead dead dead here.

Totally smashable. Looks like a specialty of yours? Man those look good - onion is off the charts - and the cheese. What kinda bread is that and brand of cheese (Wisonconny cheese?)? Good looking cheese.
the bread is from a local bakery and it is awesome.
the cheese is great lakes sharp cheddar.

Good dealio - bread and cheese - local baker makes a cheeseloaf. I'll chunk it up for dipping in soup. Block cheese flavor is weak around here so I've got to make plans. Going to copy your sandwich after making a run to the deli for real balogna.
i cant wait to see your version of this american classic.
Block Cheese will bind you up.
....which will lead to clogging Sleestalk's kitchen sink.
That's true. I know better too, no need for excess.
No matter what you call it, rice porridge, congee, jok, babor, khao piak it's one f my very favorite things for breakfast. Simple or busy.
This ones got a lot going on.
Yeah I'm not sure that "khao tom" was wrong after all. Ask a Thai person what the difference between jok and khao tom is.
Jok seems to me to be more like congee where it's cooked down to a porridge where as khao tom is cooked less and leaves the grains of rice whole. I've also seen khao tom referred to as a dessert from sticky rice steamed 8n banana leaves with other ingredients.
I'm going to make myself some cheat sheets with a bunch of different terminology so I don't always have to look things up so much. The spellings are all over the place though. Kaeng/gaeng, moo/muu, gai/kai.

You can get Chinese food? All the Chinese restaurants around here are shut down. Even in Manhattan's Chinatown. Eater.com called over 50 Chinese restaurants in Chinatown, and only one answered the phone.
He put soy sauce on top ramen. Don't be fooled.
I ordered from How Lee. An array of just generic stuff: spring rolls, lo mein, dumplings, and the main item: tiger skin peppers. A giant container of spicy lightly fried peppers with rice. All of it was awesome. It made it to two meals. Could easily have been 3.
But yeah, Chinese places are still open here.

JOM!!!

I'd probably pay more per plate from Morty than Jom. I think there needs to be Dave vs Jom cookoff.

Ugh. No. Clearly gimped. What the hot sauce? Looks correct, probably Louisisaca style or, Tapatilo. Looks watery, which in this case is correct. The toast side can fuck off. The sauasage look hopless. I hope you had enough Malpe Syrup for that "sauasge".
The hotsauce is topps store brand discounted as evident by line through bar code. The toast is a heal piece from a bullshit loaf of white bread. The sausage is school cafeteria quality.
Maple syrup is for pussies who cant handle high quality cafeteria sausage.
I put this together to show off my culinary skillz. Not many people are capable of making more with less.

Although Japanese don't reserve eggs for breakfast like us Americans that succumbed to Edward Bernays early 20th century "marketing" , I did in fact make this for breakfast.
Rice, brown and shimejji mushrooms and onions mixed with a fry sauce of tomato paste, soy sauce and loosened with dashi stock and sesame oil the give it zing, hold it together and provide the desired red color.
The sauce over the top is a miso curry ketchup.
The simplest form of this dish uses straight up ketchup for both. Nah.

Garlic butter with parsley but chive butter would definitely be good. Might do a Chinese chive mayo on my sandwich today.
This one's been in my head for a couple weeks.
Coconut lemon yogurt, maple blueberry reduction, butter seared peaches, cinnamon toast croutons, slap chopped nuts, fried mint leaves.
