Woody Harrelson as a crooked cop who gets caught on camera beating a civilian who crashed his car into his police cruiser.

I liked it, but kinda slow with no real ending.

That's exactly how I felt.

give me some perspective.  where does it rank on the bad cop movie scale?  where does Bad Lieutenant rank?

What made the movie interesting for me was that in the beginning he thought he was doing the right thing. Not to many bad cop movies that take that angle.

Bad Lieutenant did not have 2011 Ice Cube in it. This movie does, so Bad Lieutenant wins by default.

BL also has Nick Cage on lots of drugs. I found that movie quite awesome. I did like Rampart as well.

I think they're talking aboot the OG Bad Lieutenant w/ Harvey Keitel.  Worth a watch if you enjoyed Port of Call New Orelans.

The Shocker

Not giving it an erection rating, as it would be inappropriate.  Some of this movie hits a little too close to home, but I'm just glad I'm not as bad as this guy.

CanookieWookie

Although it is an old one, it is a great movie.  Lots of action. Starring a still in his prime MDouglas & AGarcia as two cops who do battle with the Asian mob.

I wanted to shoot myself in the face when she sung New York, New York.

Was that supposed to be good or bad?  Her brother cried, but people cry for a lot of reasons.  I wound up fast forwarding through that after it took her 3 minutes to get through the first line.

Also, why'd he have to lose his erection with the black chick?  That shit was racist.

Didn't really care for the Asgaard scenes. Would have preferred the other origin story (where he is an MD who has a cane that turns into Mjolnar). Saw it on the small screen, so a lot of the action details were lost. About the same as Capt. America -- not bad but it could have been better.

The original is worth it to see Keitel snort coke off the dashboard of his car after he drops his kids off to school and when he pulls over the teenage girls and jerks off to them while making one show her ass and the other to open her mouth.

You know, a buddy of mine rented the OG Bad Lieutenant 10-15 years ago from Blockbuster, and it was censored, to the point where that scene with the two girls was edited out.  I had seen it a couple years previous, unedited, not sure where I rented it from, but apparently unbeknownst to him, Blockbuster would censor some movies without telling their customers?

Cell 211

A prison guard, who shows up to work a day early before he is suppose to start his new job, finds himself in the middle of a prison riot. As the prison riot begins he is knocked unconscious and he awakens to find out that he was left behind by fellow prison guards. He now must pretend to be an inmate to survive and convince the leader of the inmates that he is a prisoner before the SWAT team can rescue him and cease the prison riot.  The movie had a quick pacing to it and there were a lot of tense and violent scenes throughout the film. I really enjoyed this movie and I highly recommend it.

A girl whose brother was killed by a Yakuza's son seeks revenge. While avenging her brother's death she is caught by the Yakuza, tortured and eventually has her left arm cut off.  After escaping the torturers, she meets a mechanic who creates a machine gun she can use for a prosthetic limb. Now she is ready to take on the Yakuza. A good movie with an endless amount of violence throughout but the violence is more on the comical side. It sort of reminded me of the violence you would see in an itchy and Scratchy cartoon. Also, there are no subtitles for this film, even though it was made in Japan because they dub English language for the voices. Recommended if you're into this type of movie.

Machine Girl can't possibly hold a candle to Tokyo Gore Police, Mutant Girls Squad, or Helldiver, but I'm going to have to find out... ;D

Lumpy

Check out Tetsuo (The Iron Man). Old school, probably did it first. (Tokyo Gore Police and Machine Girl are in my Netflix Instant Qeueueu, I think).

I loves me some Tetsuo.  Blew my mind as a teenager.  I've never seen the sequel/remake or the third one.  I need to check those out as well.

A man with experience to run long distances and marathons uses this skill to help him rob banks. Decent movie but the pacing of the film was extremely slow.

Plot: A CIA Agent accused of treason gets a chance to win his freedom if he rescues the President's daughter from a maximum security prison in space.

Review: It obviously rips off the plot of Escape from NY and mixes it up with the 90's action film cliches. That being said, if you go in there knowing that you'll come out enjoying it for what it is, a popcorn film. Guy Pearce, who's always good, plays a believable action hero with lots of great one-liners. That helped saved the film. Otherwise, every other actor comes across flat. Plot is pretty predictable.

2.5/4 stars
