Saw The Void tonight. Stupid. Seemed cool for the first 10 minutes, great practical effects all throughout, great atmosphere and good score, but just random characters and random plot. Not very good, don't waste your time.

Stayed for Donnie Darko (orig theatrical cut) - one of my all time favorite movies, salvaged the night.

Oh yeah, theater is BYOB.

Oh man, must've not been in the mood. Sure there were a lot of characters, but by the end, I knew who everyone was. I loved it. it's what Baskin, or even Hellraiser should've been, as far as story and effects. I loved this film, but I also have a penchant for these type of throwback films, that are done right...unlike...the throwback films themselves.

Sean Byrne double feature the other night.

The Loved Ones is probably one of the most overlooked because it took forever to get released in the US, though being from quite a few years back. Essential.

The Devil's Candy is great, but on a lower level than The Loved Ones. Either way, do these back to back and you have two killer films.

was in the mood for something big and dumb, and this is exactly that. I mean, we did need some real updating over the original and the failed reboots of the last 30 years. I didn't hate it at all. I usually make it an hour or less into this stuff and shut it off, but I watched it through...plus I want to do the sex stuff to Brie Larson. Stay through the credits for a tease of what's coming.

There was shit on tv this morning and I can only watch highlights so many times a day. Ended up watching this. I have no opinion of it.

This movie blew so hard. I'm not sure what all the accolades are about. Just fucking terrible. Peele should stay away from film making. Period.

Votes out on this one. I'm a huge Wheatley fan, but somehow this one misses the mark a bit. I don't know...comes off as a lean and mean low rent Tarentino, and at times it does. I'd say, the editing saves it, as the switch back and forth to different characters was relentless. Without some level of piecing who is who together it wouldn't work at all. The first 40 minutes is gold, then it starts to fade. I might check it again when it hits cable.

Not sure if it qualifies as a movie, but we've watched the first 4 episodes of "Twin Peaks:  The Return".  Wasn't sure what to expect, but it has fulfilled any hopes I had for it, so far.  Weird, funny, quirky, sucked us in.  Only a couple minor complaints, not everyone from the original cast is in it, and it hasn't wrapped up any plot lines from the original series, yet.  But David Lynch delivers.

I didn't think it was a completely horrible movie, but it didn't keep my attention either. So, I ended up doing the work I brought home from work this weekend while watching the movie.
