Yeah it's worth seeing.

After you watch read a synopsis for a better understanding or hell better yet read the damn book.

Just watched The Ballad of Buster Scruggs.

Still processing.

Started off hilarious then it was not. Now wondering what the hell I just watched, but in a good way.

Saw No Way Home with the fam last night.  Not bad.  Lots of cool visual. Good tie ins to other Marvel stories.
Vinyls.   deal.

RAGER

We watched "Don't Look Up". Ridiculous in a good way.  Speaks to what is going on currently.

Watching this soon.

Everyone who's seen it says the same thing you did. Also parallels to "Idiocracy"

Also need to watch "Pig", keep hearing it's an excellent movie

Watched it based on this recomendation. I really liked it. Lots of subtle and not so subtle shots taken at magamorons. I loved the part where hills character says "if she wasnt my mother" a clear reference to trump talking about his daughter. I wonder if the irony will be lost on any maga that watches.

RAGER

Totally aimed at maga turds. The fact the prez was just a self absorbed dingus. And the hats and the dumb slogans.

Leo talks about wanting to do a movie like this for a while.

Liz wants to watch "Don't Look Up", so I'd imagine we'll do so soon.

I've also heard great things about "Pig", but nothing about the most important aspect of ANY Nicholas Cage movie:

How epic is his meltdown scene, on a scale of 1 to Mandy?
The fact that I kept setting my own boats on fire was considered charming.

Just finished Don't Look Up.  I think Jonah ad libbing Jennifer Lawrence insults were pretty good.

I don't know if he did them off the cuff, but it seemed like it.  Otherwise, kinda of interesting.  Not great.
Vinyls.   deal.

Dylan Thomas

Huh, watched Prisoners of Ghostland.  It was....okay.  Entertaining.  Same studio that released Mandy and The Colour Out Of Space.

Same basic idea, batshit with Nicholas Cage as the lead.  Very bizarre and surreal, though it often fails to top its own over-the-the-topness and has some large sections of the movie that feel pretty directionless.  So it doesn't really build a lot of momentum going into the finale, and the middle slogs a bit.

Doesn't really have an epic Nick Cage meltdown, so there's also that.  I wasn't expecting high theater or anything, just some insta-cult weirndess, and it certainly delivers that.

I'm bummed that Prisoners of Ghostland isn't supposed to be better because it's the American debut of one of Japan's most batshit directors, Sion Sono (Suicide Club, Love Exposure, Cold Fish etc)

But who knows, I might like it!

Matrix 4

This is gonna be a love it or hate it sort of deal. Goofy as hell. Curious if anybody is a big fan of the franchise and what yall think of this one

I certainly liked it, don't get me wrong.  It's most certainly batshit too, don't get that wrong either.  It just kind of hits the batshit peak a bit early, and runs out of room and ideas to really get froggin' freaky.

Like, Mandy was awesome because it just kept getting more and more off the wall and intense, you know?

Finally watched "Don't Look Up."

It was very funny, great satire that understands the key concept of "punching up."

I really liked the portrayal of the rich CEO dude who claims to be a humanitarian, though proves otherwise through his actions.  So poignant.  The actor was really good.

I'll check it out, could use some cheesy horror in my life.

It's a crime / martial arts action thing. Have you seen THE RAID and its sequel?

Dylan Thomas

The Raid?  No.

I guess I could do crime/martial arts as well?

Oh dude you gotta watch THE RAID. This main guy is the same guy from THE NIGHT COMES FOR US
